Judge rules boneless chicken wings can contain bones

Surprise, surprise... boneless chicken wings might actually contain bones!
When you hear boneless chicken wings, what comes to mind?
If you were thinking it is chicken wings free of bones, think again!
A recent report by the Associated Press has revealed that boneless chicken wings just refer to the cooking method, not necessarily the fact that the wings have no bones.
This comes after a man ordered boneless chicken wings at a restaurant, only to swallow a bone that caused damage to his health.
When he sued the restaurant, he was told that boneless chicken wings do not necessarily have to be free of bones.
READ: No McDonald's, no chicken nuggets - Inside the 2024 Paris Olympics menuMichael Berkheimer went to Wings on Brookwood restaurant with his wife and friends and ordered boneless chicken wings with parmesan garlic sauce at the Hamilton, Ohio wing joint, reports AP.
To his surprise, he reportedly felt a bite-size piece of meat go down the wrong way and three days later he went to consult a doctor, only for the doctor to discover a long, thin bone that had torn his oesophagus and caused an infection.
This led to Michael suing the restaurant, but the Supreme Court said that ''boneless wings' refers to a cooking style, and that Berkheimer should’ve been on guard against bones since it’s common knowledge that chickens have bones', reports AP.
“A diner reading ‘boneless wings’ on a menu would no more believe that the restaurant was warranting the absence of bones in the items than believe that the items were made from chicken wings, just as a person eating ‘chicken fingers’ would know that he had not been served fingers,” Justice Joseph T. Deters wrote for the majority, states AP.
