Nothing beats the smell of freshly baked rolls.
Whether you enjoy eating them on their own or with fillings, rolls are loved the world over. Basically, they are delicious!
The other good thing is that they can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
If you want to learn how to bake your own, we have you covered.
All you need are seven ingredients, a bowl, oven, and you are good to go.
The recipe is easy and doesn’t require much time.Ingredients
Four cups of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
5 tbs sugar
2 tsp yeast
1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
1 1/2 cups warm milk
1 Egg
5 tbs melted butter/margarine
Method
Mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast together.
In a separate bowl, mix butter, milk, and water together.
Add the liquid mixture gradually to the dry ingredients.
Knead for three to four minutes or until the dough doesn’t stick and feels elastic.
Leave the dough to rise for 30 min.
Cut the dough into same sized balls and place into a greased baking dish.
Place baking dish over a bowl of boiled water and cover all with large plastic and let steam for 20 min.
Glaze/brush with beaten egg and 1 tablespoon milk on top to give the rolls a shiny, golden colour.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Enjoy!
