Eating contaminated food can cause you to suffer from food poisoning. 

Uncooked food, food that hasn't been fully reheated, and improper food storage practices are a few ways that can make food contaminated. Also food that has expired or has germs can cause health problems. 

If you find yourself dealing with vomiting, diarrhea, or an upset stomach, you could be suffering from food poisoning. 

Remedies

Although most people recover from home when they have food poisoning, there are some that can suffer serious health challenges. 

For instance, Mayo Clinic reports that food poisoning can be potentially life-threatening for young children, pregnant women and their foetuses, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. 

Healthline recommends that if you suffer from food poisoning, refrain from eating for a few hours until your stomach is settled. 

Because food poisoning can cause you to suffer from diarrhea and vomiting, you might find that your body is dehydrated. This is why it is important to drink a lot of water.

It also recommends that apart from water, you can drink non-caffeinated sodas, decaffeinated tea, and chicken or vegetable broth. 

However, avoid alcohol, drinks that contain caffeine, and fruit juices. These can cause your condition to worsen. 

Try eating food that is low in fat and fiber. Some of the foods to try include bananas, cereals, honey, oatmeal, rice, toast, egg whites, and plain potatoes.
