Five most loved beverages by men in South Africa

South African men prefer to drink a cup of coffee before starting their day. Here are the other hot beverages that made the list.
A national survey conducted among more than 700 respondents released by Meropa Communications reveals the preferred beverages by men in South Africa.
The study has revealed that coffee is the favourite hot beverage amongst men in South Africa.
The survey found that 46% of men start their day with a cup of coffee.
Coffee is not only loved in South Africa but all over the world. It is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world and in 2021/2022, nearly 176-million 60 kilogram bags of coffee were consumed worldwide, according to a report from Statista published on 22 May 2024.
Tea comes second in line.
According to the survey, 30% of men prefer a cup of Rooibos tea as their preferred beverage.
Rooibos has many great benefits. One of the greatest benefits is that it boosts the immune system.
It is packed with antioxidants, and helps neutralise harmful free radicals in the body.
According to SA Rooibos, rooibos is a great beverage for winter. It reportedly helps 'fend off common winter ailments such as colds, flu and other respiratory infections'.

Water was the third most popular daybreak drink at 9%, reveals the survey.
Drinking water helps the digestive system. It is also great for detoxing and helps with blood circulation and purifying blood.
According to Medical News Today, drinking enough water is essential for burning off fat from food and drink, as well as stored fat.
After water, fourth on the list was black tea, while hot chocolate followed at 5%.
Black tea helps boost energy and makes one alert because it contains caffeine.
