So you love to shop, but also want to save a little bit of money, we have some good news. There are a number of places in Durban that offer great products at affordable prices, and some in a very nice setting and space too.
Saving a bit of money while shopping means you can do other important things such as paying off your debts faster or you can save up for that luxurious apartment or fancy car you are dying to have.
So be savvy with your money and visit one of these shopping spots to pick up a bargain.
The Shongweni Farmer’s Market
This market has over 100 stalls and sells almost everything- from fresh vegetables and fruits to gardening tools and crafts.
What's unique about it is that majority of the products are locally produced and the place is pet-friendly. How cool is that?! So no need to leave the beloved family dog at home. You'll also find a great play area to keep the kids entertained.

I Heart Market
If you prefer doing shopping at month-end, then the I Heart Market is the perfect place for you. This market is only open once a month, on the 1st Saturday of every month, from 9am to 2pm.
It's a good place to stock up on food, get clothes, accessories and even some entertainment items like DVDs. And if you get a little tired after all that shopping, pick up a delicious, freshly prepared meal and enjoy the afternoon with your family or friends.
I Heart Market is situated on Isaiah Ntshangase Road, Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The Stables Lifestyle Market
Located at 9 Jacko Jackson Dr, Stamford Hill, The Stables Lifestyle Market is a great place to take the whole family for some shopping.
Expect to find vendors selling arts & crafts, home décor, antiques, fashion, make-up, paintings, embroidery, cellphone accessories, books and toys for your little ones.
The market is open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm to 10pm and every Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
Durban's Bangladesh Market
If you are looking for fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, spices, toiletries, plants, kitchenware, and clothing, at very reasonable prices then Durban's Bangladesh Market is worth a visit.
Located on Business Square, Chatsworth, Durban, this market is one of the most popular markets in Durban and serves as a great meeting place for those who want to socialize, grab some essentials and also get a quick bite to eat.
Warwick junction
This informally structured market hosts hundreds of street vendors who sell their goods at very reasonable prices.
Visitors can shop for beadwork, traditional arts and crafts, traditional cuisine, fresh produce, clothing, accessories and traditional medicine.
SPCA Market
Shop for some books and other goodies while being entertained with live music at the SPCA market. Dogs are also welcome and there's a nice play area for the young ones.
The SPCA market can be found at 29 Village Road, Kloof, and is open Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm and Saturday from 8am to 12pm.
