These are the jobs that were most affected by the coronavirus pandemic

Boston Consulting Group has released statistics showing how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the jobs of many South Africans.
Millions of jobs were affected. Some got retrenched, while others suffered a salary cut.
The Boston Consulting Group compiled a study where they interviewed people from different sectors in South Africa to see how much the pandemic has affected their careers.
The study revealed how many people suffered negatively and are willing to change jobs.
77% of people in the travel and tourism industry said COVID-19 negatively affected their sector. They were followed by those in the Arts & Creative Work sector with 58%.
57% of people in the social care industry said they were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the professional services, 50% of the respondents said their jobs were negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The least negatively affected industries were the health care industry, service sector, media, and the law industry.
When it comes to changing jobs, many of the respondents said they wouldn’t mind retraining to take up different jobs.
The highest number of respondents who said they would not mind moving to another field of work are manual workers and people in the manufacturing industry. They were followed by those in the media and information sector, and social care. Next on the list were people who worked in customer service, marketing and communication, and sales.
