One of the greatest pains a woman can go through is a miscarriage.

Sadly, about 10 to 20 percent of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, reports Mayo Clinic. Yet, regardless of how common they are, there is still a stigma that many women suffer as a result of having a miscarriage.

Some women blame themselves, while for others, society makes them feel like failures.

Sharon Stone recently opened up about the miscarriages she has suffered in the past.

The 64-year-old shared her experience on an Instagram Post by People Magazine which was talking about the miscarriage Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy recently suffered.

This was the third miscarriage for Murgatroyd who shared how the miscarriages made her feel “completely embarrassed, ultimately ashamed”.

Sharon also revealed how she was made to feel that a miscarriage is something to carry secretly.

“We, as females don’t have a forum to discuss the profundity of this loss,” she wrote, before revealing that she lost nine children by miscarriage.

The actress said regardless of how emotionally taxing the losses where, she was made to feel that she has to bear the pain alone.

“It is no small thing, physically nor emotionally yet we are made to feel it is something to bear alone and secretly with some kind of sense of failure.

“Instead of receiving the much-needed compassion and empathy and healing which we so need,” she wrote.

“Female health and wellness left to the care of the male ideology has become lax at best, ignorant in fact, and violently oppressive in effort,” she concluded.
