Pride Month: Celebrating gay South African celebrities
To celebrate Pride Month, we look at celebrities who have embraced their homosexuality.
The month of June is dedicated to gays and lesbians who are often marginalised because of their sexuality.
South Africa is home to many great celebrities who are proudly gay.
Let's look at some of them.
Somizi Mhlongo
Somizi Mhlongo and his partner Mohale tied the knot in 2019.
The two are deeply in love. They had two lavish weddings which were attended by the who's who of the entertainment industry.

Rian van Heerden
JacarandaFM presenter Rian van Heerden has been very vocal about the rights of gays.
He recently spoke to Portobello Productions about being teased because of his sexuality.
Toya Delazy
South African award-winning musician Toya Delazy is proudly gay.
She recently celebrated eight years of being in a relationship with her partner from France. Although Toya has not shared her name, she has posted images of them having a great time.
The singer has even written a song dedicated to the gay community called, ‘Forbidden Fruit’.

Craig Lucas
'The Voice SA' season 2 winner Craig Lucas came out of the closet in 2018.

Joe Foster
South African popstar Joe Foster got engaged to his partner of three years Ziechfried Paul in 2018.
The two got married in 2019.
