Pride Factor, missed weddings and hope!
Updated | By JacPod
Have you heard about Pride Factor? It's a life skills academy dedicated to improving the quality
of young people’s lives and helping them to develop
entrepreneurial thinking.
Pride Factor hopes to inspire, guide and mentor young people; as well as to
challenge their assumptions, broaden their aspirations and develop
entrepreneurial thinking.
Dene Botha, the MD and founder of Pride Factor, joins Brent Lindeque on the Good Things Guy JacPod to tell us more about Pride Factor, to discuss life in lockdown, and his missed wedding (which he finally got to have, just days after recording this podcast).

UPDATE from Dene: “Having already shifted the wedding date twice due to the Pandemic and lockdown, we started the week with constant negativity following us around including things like our first officiant running-off with our money and the next one getting diagnosed with COVID 48 hours before the “I do’s” (he’s fine btw)… We finally managed to stabilise things and successfully pull-off the most beautiful little wedding on our rooftop with two best friends as witnesses and our parents joining-in from around the world via Zoom (never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d say that). The formalities are done and are officially husband and wife, however, the ceremony (and bachelor party!) will still take place in November (hopefully) so that we can celebrate with our family, friends and loved ones.”
Meanwhile, last week on Good Things Guy, Brent caught up with Graeme Codrington to chat about hope during the Coronavirus pandemic and what that means for South Africa!
We're more than four months into lockdown and it's also been over four months since Graeme's
last appearance on Brent Lindeque's JacPod podcast. Now, Graeme is back
to talk about South Africa’s anger and where it stems from.
Graeme Codrington is a South African author, futurist and strategy
consultant. He's been very vocal about the Coronavirus and what it means
for South Africa. Some of his thoughts have been very serious, talking
about the elderly, the people with underlying illnesses and the poor.
But he's also added a different perspective and ultimately… hope.
Listen below as Graeme and Brent talk about the state of the country
after 4 months of lockdown. The conversation is deep, hard and
ultimately comforting.
If you missed Brent and Graeme's first discussion from 17 March this year, just as South Africa was heading into lockdown, find it below.
