Passenger hit by severe diarrhoea on plane, flight forced to turn back
Updated | By East Coast Radio
This really was a sh*tty situation for all involved...
A worst nightmare became a reality for passengers on a Delta flight recently.
Two hours into a flight from Atlanta, USA, to Barcelona, Spain, the pilot informed the 336 passengers that they were required to head back after someone on board suffered from an explosive case of diarrhoea, creating a mess throughout the plane.

Have a listen to the pilot in the post below and read what one of the passengers on the flight had to say:
Both my wife and I were on the flight. It was a mess. The pilots made the right decision to turn around. The ground crew ripped out the carpet and put new in. Considering the circumstances, the ground crew did a great job, along the attendants and the pilots.

As the incident was considered to be a 'biohazard', the pilot was, under protocol, required to head back.

A statement released by Delta reads: “Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologise to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans."
For those brave enough, below is a video of the aftermath of the extreme case of diarrhoea on the plane:

Interestingly, this is not the only incident involving a Delta plane which has hit the news of late.
A week ago, Delta confirmed that 11 passengers and crew members were taken to hospital after they were subjected to a severe case of turbulence on a flight from Milan, Italy, to Atlanta, USA.
