KFC couple speaks out after outpouring of love
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat were never ready for the kind of love and support they would receive from South Africans!
The couple has finally spoken out, and they are feeling overwhelmed with gratitude.
Hector proposed to the love of his life last week at a KFC outlet.

The proposal went viral on social media after a Twitter user called Anele mocked Hector for proposing at a KFC, saying South African men have no class.
Dear @KFCSA I would like 2ask on behalf of those who agree with Me for @butterfly_Anele a hlabelwe kgoho🐓, a hlapiswe before the wedding ha qeta she must volunteer 2feed the couple KFC @ the wedding as her sign of Apology. Ha qeta she must wash all of the pots. Qha! #kfcproposal pic.twitter.com/njmei71rzx

But, what was meant to be mockery on Anele's part turned into something great and big for the couple, with KFC and many big brands in South Africa offering to help give the couple the wedding of their dreams. This includes custom made wedding rings, bridal wear from celebrity designers, performances from some of South Africa biggest artists, an all-expenses-paid honeymoon, and much more.

After a week of offers pouring in for the couple, they are ready to have the wedding of their dreams.
However, this is not the first wedding the couple will be having. According to Sowetan, Hector and Nonhlanhla tied the knot in 2012 with a small ceremony, due to pressure from the church and not having enough money.
With all the support from Mzanzi, the couple is now ready to have the biggest wedding South Africa has ever seen.
“Thank you, South Africa. Your kindness has truly warmed us,” the couple told Sowetan.
“We would have never imagined that our love story would have touched so many of you,” said Hector.
The couple has, however, asked for time to take all the love in.
“While we appreciate the support we ask that you please give us a moment to take it all in. We will definitely let you know about our plans around the wedding."
