Do you recognise yourself these days?
Updated | By JacPod
As we head towards six months in lockdown, many South Africans are still trying to get their heads around this so-called 'new normal'. Clinical psychologist 'DrD' Dorianne Weil has practical advice about how to assess your own mental health; how to ensure your relationships survive lockdown and when to turn to a professional for help.
Ask yourself, am I functional? How am I doing in my everyday relationships? Can I relate, as I did, to other people - and how am I doing in my work?- Dorianne Weil
'DrD' - host of the JacPod weekly podcast series, Thrive with 'DrD' has been receiving queries from listeners who're concerned about various aspects of their own, or a loved ones, mental health in this time of the Coronavirus pandemic.
She's broken with the podcast's regular format this
week, in order to respond to some of your questions around living and
surviving - and thriving - in this so-called new normal.
Her advice is very practical and also applies to those working on the frontline. 'DrD' also has a really profound comparison with the after effects of the horrific 9-11 terror attacks in New York in 2001.
