The debate on whether bathing daily is necessary has been going on for years.

According to healthline.com, not taking care of one's hygiene can cause health issues.

One of the most obvious challenges that comes with not bathing is bad body odour, especially in your armpits and groin.

According to Healthline, not bathing regularly can also cause a build-up of dead skin cells, dirt, and sweat on your skin which can cause acne. It can also lead to you suffering from conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.

It can also cause you to have areas of dark or discoloured skin.

How often should you bathe or shower?

The site states that dermatologists only recommend a shower every other day, or two to three times a week.

How often a person should bathe depends on their skin type and the season. For instance, it states that a daily shower in winter can cause your skin to become dry, while it might not have the same effect in summer.
