'Indian Matchmaking' - Netflix reality show exposes tough dating world

"So they basically made an ENTIRE SHOW on that one aunty we all have and hate!"
The dating world is generally a crazy place for singletons, but things get crazier when you are Indian - well, at least if Netflix's new reality show is anything to go by.
'Indian Matchmaking' debuted on the streaming site a few days ago. The show has left viewers both amused and shocked.
Marriage consultant and matchmaker Sima Taparia, aka 'Sima Auntie', helps Indian men and women with arranged marriages. She has clients in India and America.
"So they basically made an ENTIRE SHOW on that one aunty we all have and hate!" one YouTube user commented.
Another user added: "Literally that one annoying aunty that we all avoid."
'Sima Auntie' says her efforts are meaningless if the stars are not aligned.
She takes into consideration the preferences of both the potential couples and their parents when making matches.

Some prefer men who earn the same amount of money or more than them.
From awkward first dates to mothers threatening to take matters into their own hands, the show is certainly entertaining.
"If he doesn't finalise, me and my husband are going to finalise the girl for him. That is what I have decided," one mom says on the show's trailer.
One of the women on the show received the "lamest excuse" when her date cancelled at the last minute - he was arguing with his sister!
This has got to be one of the lamest excuses a woman has ever heard for being stood up

After all the drama, did any of the couples actually find long lasting love?
Major spoiler alert ahead!
None of the couples on the show ended up together! But their moms have no doubt moved on to plan B.
