Celebs who walked down the aisle in traditional wedding dresses
Updated | By ThriveIn
To celebrate Heritage Month, we look at the beautiful traditional wedding dresses some of our celebrities wore on their big day.
September is a month dedicated to celebrating our heritage. It is also wedding season, as the weather starts to warm up.
Over the years, we have seen more couples choosing to embrace their cultures and tying the knot the traditional way.
One of the things that sets traditional and white weddings apart is the wedding gown.
While years ago, traditional wedding dresses were not that lavish, nowadays brides and designers are going all out to ensure traditional wedding gowns are as extravagant as white wedding gowns.
Here are four celebrities who walked down the aisle in beautiful traditional wedding gowns:
Ntando Kunene
Last December, Khaya Mthethwa married former Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi Kunene in a lavish traditional wedding in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.
Ntando looked breath-taking in a creamy off-the-shoulder Zulu gown designed by FabroSanz Creations. She also wore a matching Zulu hat and a beaded overlay, which made the dress even more stunning.

Gugu Khathi
Businesswoman and wife to DJ Tira, Gugu Khathi, wore a beautiful black and white traditional wedding dress when she said her “I do's” in 2016.
Her husband wore matching traditional attire and their wedding cake also had a traditional theme.
Zizo Beda
TV and Radio personality Zizo Beda tied the knot to her lover Mayihlome Tshwete in December 2015.
The two had a two-day wedding celebration at King William’s Town in the Eastern Cape.
The first day was a lavish white wedding, which was followed by a posh traditional wedding.
Beda wore a stunning beaded traditional Xhosa dress that matched her husband’s attire. Her face was covered in a beautiful beaded headpiece and a black and white hat.
