Bodies of grandmother, children recovered in Tongaat

Emergency services are at Flamingo Heights in Tongaat where several bodies have been recovered from a car that was washed away on Monday evening.
It's understood the driver, an elderly woman, had been trying to cross a flooded bridge when the car was swept away.
Three of the woman’s grandchildren, including a baby, a toddler and a 10-year-old girl, were also in the car at the time of the incident.
Multiple operations were launch in an effort to find the grandmother and the three children.
In a tragic turn of events, the body of the 3-month-old baby was found around lunchtime on Tuesday.

Search-and -rescue teams had already managed to locate the body of the elderly woman and the 18-month-old girl on Monday evening.
Their remains were body found in the car a short distance from the bridge.
The family of the victims were at the scene to witness the rescue operations.
The search for the 10-year-old girl continues.
