Kagiso Media Hunger Relief Fund: Making a difference in communities

Kagiso Media and East Coast Radio have pledged to assist NGO's with feeding those in their communities. Here are this week's lucky recipients on Darren, Keri and Sky's show:
Monday - 8 June: North Coast Courier Orphan Fund:
The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund. The fund serves communities between Umdloti and Stanger. The North Coast Courier Orphan fund is privately funded by the members of the North Coast Community. They provide food parcels to 13 beneficiaries, NPO's as well as child-headed households who care for orphans. Their beneficiaries NGO's are seen as pillars of support: Creches, Soup Kitchens, upliftment programs and so forth.
According to Jane Armstrong from the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, their focus had to change to accommodate the distribution of soup and larger quantities of food to vulnerable communities.

Tuesday, 9 June: Lifetime Emancipation association for Diversity
LEAD 's leader, Ayanda Madevana, explains that they have been serving the community on isolated occasions in PMB in the past but would like to start a feeding initiative in the spirit of Ubuntu.
The organization itself is led by five young people that work well with people and are very passionate about helping people. This organization has been doing amazing things in Pietermaritzburg with Gezu-buso project a place where children from different backgrounds.
