#ECR26 WEEK 3: 26 Years Of Community Service

Soup Kitchen Flashback
The Big Favour is an institution on East Coast Radio and we are just a vessel that makes it possible, but it belongs to you.

Earlier this year when the #KZNFloods ruined our province, a small soup kitchen operating out of a closet asked for some support after the lines got longer and longer.
Here’s what happened:
Operation Bobbi Bear
In 2021 our province was crippled by the looting.
However, another consequence that we felt was that so many businesses that donated to charities were rendered unable to do so.

That was the case for Operation Bobbi Bear.
This had been part of The Big Favour is one of the longest-standing community projects and it lives on Darren, Keri, and Sky.

Water Collection Project
Sadly, water is once again the topic of today's flashback.
At the start of 2016, it had been months since a drop of rain fell in Northern KwaZulu-Natal and locals had run out of resources.

We saw in 2022 when too much rain fell, KZN came together as one person and donated millions of liters of water to the communities that suffered the most.
