Kids and Technology: The new birds and the bees talk!
Updated | By Paul Bushell & Diane Macpherson
In this KindnessCan podcast, Jane Linley-Thomas and Paul Bushell take a real and practical look into navigating the technology and social media world with our children. It's a minefield out there!
Not only is the technology constantly changing, but most parents have very little experience or role model on how to manage this part of their child's life.
"Too much social media and too much technology is not socially and emotionally and neurologically good for your child. So if you are expecting your child to spend less time on their device, you need to spend less time on yours," says Paul.
Do you agree? Paul agrees that it's not always that clear cut, and he has advice on this issue. Listen to the discussion below.
Meanwhile, watching their friends lose their income from the shutdown of the
Shongweni Farmers Market during the COVID-19 lockdown earlier this year,
two local guys decided they couldn't stand by and do nothing. This is
the story of 'Our Local Market'.Branden Gee and Cameron Blair decided to support friends and other locals affected by the hard lockdown by creating 'Our Local Market.'
It's an online space where small businesses can trade. But it's also so much more than that, according to Branden and Cameron.
They join the KindnessCan duo, Jane Linley-Thomas and Paul Bushell, to share their story and why this matters so much to them. Listen below.
