So, on Friday 25 June, East Coast Gold proudly joins thousands of other radio stations around the world to mark Global Beatles Day for some Beatlemania! That’s Global Beatles Day – this Friday on East Coast Gold.
Every year on 25 June, fans from around the world come together to celebrate the global icons that reshaped music since their formation in 1960 – The Beatles.
The iconic British group not only had an impact on the music
industry, but also on global Pop Culture.
Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo
Starr, and George Harrison recorded their first project as a foursome in 1962 —
after producer George Martin fired original drummer Pete Best.
Since that day, we can safely say that their music has broken boundaries all across the universe.
Global Beatles Day was founded in 2009, and every year fans across the globe come together to celebrate not only their music, but also their message of peace, love, and harmony; because truth be told – all we need is love, love, love.
So, what makes 25 June a significant day in their history?
On 25 June 1967, The Beatles performed ‘All You Need Is Love’ to 400 million people via the first global live TV link, reaching 26 different countries simultaneously.
