Phil Collins at 70: The classic hits

Phil Collins - one of the
most successful pop and adult contemporary singers of all time - turns 70 on
Saturday.
From joining Genesis as a drummer to becoming one of the world's most popular singers, Collins is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
He released his debut solo album, ‘Face Value’, in 1981.

Between 1984 and 1990, Collins had 13 straight U.S. Top Ten hits.
His first single, ‘In the Air Tonight’, was a big hit, reaching number two on the U.K charts.
The singer has been a part of several bands, including ‘Genesis’ and ‘Brand X’.
He has won eight Grammy Awards out of the 28 he was nominated for.
He has also won two Golden Globe awards, six Brits Awards, and in 1990 he won the Brit Award for the ‘Song Of The Year’ for the song, ‘Another Day In Paradise’.
From 1982 until 1990, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles.
