  • Gandhi/Phoenix Settlement

One of the most popular attractions is the Gandhi Settlement, located in the picturesque Inanda Valley. Here, families can step back in time and learn about Mahatma Gandhi's life and legacy in South Africa.

  • Ohlange Institute

Former President Nelson Mandela cast his vote at the Ohlange Institute on 27 April 1994. This school was founded by the first president of the ANC, John Langalibalele Mafukuzela Dube.

SA venues provided the following directions:

To find the Ohlanga Institute head to King Shaka International Airport, leaving the N2 via exit 177 towards Inanda. Follow signs for R102/Kwamashu/Phoenix/Inanda, which merges with the M25. Ohlange Institute is signposted from the M25.

  • Culture Walking Tour

On this half-day tour, you'll learn about Durban's rich culture while walking around the city with a local. Join a small group and walk through Victoria Street Market to see how the locals shop. Then, take public transport to the beach for a relaxing lunch before sitting down to a delicious meal at a nearby restaurant.
