KZN Museum's 5th Annual Storytelling Festival in Pietermaritzburg
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Get ready for a week of "captivating storytelling" this August 2024.
Storytelling has long been a part of South Africa's heritage. We are excited to share the KwaZulu-Natal Museum's 5th Annual Storytelling Festival.
Set to take place at the end of August 2024, Siboniso Gcumisa, the Museum’s ‘Heritage Symbols and Cultural History Intern’, is planning a week filled with captivating storytelling and poetry sessions at the end of August.
This celebration aims to promote reading, writing, and the rich tradition of storytelling, showcasing the diverse heritage and cultural history that we all share.
The Museum has urged the community to donate unwanted and pre-loved books, which can be dropped off at the KwaZulu-Natal Museum's reception area in Pietermaritzburg.
The storytelling festival has encouraged many reading clubs to emerge, but the need for books has hindered them. The museum is not biased regarding the type of book; they welcome fiction, nonfiction, academic books, novels, children's books, and language books.
You can follow the KwaZulu-Natal Museum on their social media page for more information about the festival dates.
