A sip of paradise at the Highgate Wine Estate is something you never knew you needed.
There are many wine estates in South Africa, but it seems KwaZulu-Natal might be taking the champagne for having some of the most beautiful, exquisite wine estates.
The Highgate Wine Estate is located in the beautiful Midlands.
Highgate originally started off as a vegetable farm in 1996 and locals were able to get their fresh vegetable products at the estate. The location became an extremely popular place to meet, and, of course, growth came naturally.

Cindy and Rudi Kassier, who are the owners of the estate, really had a passion for food and wine and through this great passion they were able to build a successful estate which now stands beautifully in the Midlands.
You can expect some of the tastiest wines including:
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Merlot
- Blanc De Noir
- Pinotage
A fantastic element and pro about this estate is the fact that they grow their own grapes.
The estate went from producing 1,500 wine bottles in 2016 to now making around 17,000 bottles per year.
