Let's roll! Get your skate on at Roller Rink in Umhlanga
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
It's time to lace up those skates and head to the roller rink for an hour or two of "funexercise".
If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, then you were lucky enough to experience the joy of roller skating and rollerblading.
From doing the electric slide on skates to hosting roller disco-themed parties, it was a fun time to be alive.
It is now time to pass on that joy to the next generation of skaters!
A new roller skate rink opened in KwaZulu-Natal in September.
Roller Rink, which is located at The Pearls Mall in Umhlanga, is the first roller skate rink in Durban.

You can also host kiddies or adult parties at the venue.
KZN influencer, Monique De Villiers, from 'Being Maddie & Charlie's Mom', recently visited the roller rink.
She celebrated her birthday at the venue, and couldn't stop singing its praises.
"I couldn’t think of a better way to wrap up another year around the sun than celebrating at a ‘roller disco’ with my girlfriends... this gem is still Durban’s best-kept secret and the newest experience destination we all need to add to our to do list, especially if you have kids!!" she wrote.
Despite not having been on skates for years, she had the time of her life.
"Maddie absolutely loved it - kids are fearless and she must have fallen 100 times (because she’s proper fearless and tried to properly skate) but continued to laugh, pick herself up, dust herself off and skate! I was so proud of her!! Me on the other hand - snails pace but I moved and fell only once. I’m so keen to go again and get better! It’s a proper workout too!"
Three-year-olds and adults in their fifties have been spotted at the rink! You can bring your own skates or use the rink's skates.
Roller Rink is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11am to 7pm. The cost is R200 per person to skate for as long as you want.
