Kitesurfing is a fascinating sport, and it needs to be on the bucket list of everyone who loves water activities.

Equipment:

You will need a kite. 

A rider with a bar that has 20–25-meter lines and it is attached to the rider’s harness.

You will also need a board and a wetsuit.

Kitesurfing is weather dependent – it requires that there is wind blowing.

Kitesurfing in Ballito

If you are in and around Durban, then head to Ballito for a time of your life where you will be able to enjoy kitesurfing on the beachfront.

Ballito is located on the North Coast of KwaZulu-Natal - and the North Coast just so happens to be one of South Africa’s top surf destinations.

Whether you are new at kitesurfing or you are a master, it really doesn’t matter. Surfers Ballito Bay offers instruction by IKO (International Kiteboarding Organisation) qualified instructors to help with the necessary skills and coaching for the sport.

You can also get to kitesurf at La Mercy, south of Ballito - the most popular kitesurfing beach.

There is great accommodation at Canelands Beach Club, Coco De Mer Boutique Hotel, Hampshire Hotel, and La Montagne.
