2024 Ballito Pro: The ultimate battleground for surfers

Some of the world's best surfers will gather in South Africa in June for the ultimate surfing competition.

The 55th Ballito Pro, Presented by O’Neill, will host the third stop of the World Surf League's (WSL) 2024 Challenger Series. The previous two stops were held in Australia.

The Challenger Series will take place in KwaDukuza from 25 June to 8 July. It is an important competition for professional surfers as it will decide the top 10 ranked men and top five ranked women who will go on to compete in the 2025 Championship Tour.

"WSL Africa is deeply honoured to be a part of the local surfing heritage within this naturally beautiful and wave-rich region," Tasha Mentasti, WSL AFRICA Regional Director, said.

The Ballito Pro is not only for sports enthusiasts, but also for beach-loving families.

The 14-day surfing and lifestyle event has several activities planned. Some include Beach Mania, Kids Corner, and Retail Delight, which is fun for the whole family.

There'll also be food vendors, crafters, displays, and exhibitions.

"Connecting local heritage with the surfing Challenger Series, the 2024 theme This is the Battlefield – Lena Inkundla Yempi will see surfers battle it out for the top title, while spectators enjoy non-stop entertainment within the arena and beyond," Ballito Pro organisers said in a statement.
