John Lennon's son continues to keep his father's memory alive.

Sean, who has followed in his father's footsteps and became a musician, says it is his duty to bring attention to his father's music.

He revealed this during an interview with The Times

Sean was speaking about his ‘Ultimate Mix’ release of his father’s fourth solo album, ‘Mind Games’, which came out on July 12. He said he released the mix to bring attention to his father's music.

The musician also put a spotlight on his father's lyrics.

“One thing that distinguishes my dad’s solo career is how personal his lyrics became. It is like a diary, and it is my duty to bring attention to my father’s music. Not just my duty to him, but a duty to the world,” he said.

The 48-year-old says he refuses to allow people to forget his father's music.

“With the world as it is now, people have forgotten so many things that I never imagined could be forgotten. I refuse to let that happen to this music — it means too much to me,” he said.

Sean also spoke about his father's relationship with his mother, Yoko Ono.

“Their story is a love story. They found each other across a great divide and certainly struggled through ups and downs, but never doubted their love," he said.

He said his parents' relationship should serve as an example.

"It is important we remember them as an example. Even through rough patches, you can see my father thought about my mother. They were simply, irrevocably intertwined," he said.
