Michael Lee Aday, known professionally as Meat Loaf, has passed away aged 74.
"Heaven can wait.
And a band of Angels wrapped up in my heart,
Will take me through the lonely night.
Through the cold of the day.
And I know, I know,
Heaven can wait.
And all the gods come down here just to sing for me!
And the melody's gonna make me fly,
Without pain, without fear."
It's another sad day in the music world.
The iconic performer has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide.
Meat Loaf's management released the following statement on his Facebook page:
"Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours. His amazing career spanned six decades that saw him sell over 100 million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including Fight Club, Focus, Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne's World.
