An official statement from SA Rugby has been released to warn supporters about online websites claiming to be selling rugby tickets.

Fans are reporting being conned into buying tickets for Springbok matches, only for the seller to default having taken payment.

In a bid to stop the sale of fake tickets, SA Rugby has revealed that there are just two official ticketing channels.

Ticketpro (all Tests bar one) and Computicket (for the match against New Zealand in Nelspruit) are the only trusted sellers.

There are other online sites that are branding themselves as sellers of Springbok tickets. CEO of SA Rugby, Jurie Roux, has quashed any sort of rumours of other places being able to sell tickets.

"There are absolutely no guarantees that the tickets will ever materialise as touts don’t have tickets. We strongly advise not to buy from online 're-sellers'. In our experience, fans will be overcharged and may never see tickets while losing their money," said Roux.

Roux also revealed that this applies for Rugby World Cup Sevens tickets (which takes place in Cape Town in September) and for the HSBC Cape Town Sevens

“People will fork out ridiculous sums of money for tickets through these sites, but have little opportunity other than to pursue them legally when they fail to deliver,” said Roux.

Here are the official channels to buy tickets for the remaining Springbok matches:
