Would you try this 'Whack-A-Mole' team-building activity?
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Team-building activities help your team of employees work together on fun activities that build their sense of teamwork.
"Team building is creating a team cohesively working together towards a common goal. The main purpose of team building is to create a strong team by forming bonds and connections." (Teambonding)
Therefore, many businesses prioritise team-building. It is a fun way to allow your employees to work together and test their level of leadership, camaraderie, integrity, and sense of togetherness.
We found an unconventional activity inspired by an arcade game called, 'Whack-A-Mole'.
The game of Whack-A-Mole is often used colloquially to describe a situation where you might complete a series of tasks successfully, only to find another task pops up.
You wouldn't think this game has a series of underlying messages, but it teaches us that obstacles are bound to pop up when you least expect them. When they do arise, it's best to prepare your mind so that you don't cause yourself any undue stress or anxiety.
Watch the video below from YouTube.
Now, imagine this game being played on a human level! The player would hit people who would pop up from different holes around him.
It is interesting to note that the term 'Whack-A-Mole' also refers to a style of management used in business.
"Whack – a – Mole Management is a style of managing or leading others where a manager waits for something he or she believes to be wrong to happen and “whacks” the behaviour with words and actions." (CMOE)
Could this be why the human version of this game came about in the form of team-building? Perhaps. We're unsure but it was fun to watch. Check out the video from Instagram below.
