An Ostrich has been spotted running along the highway in Fourways, Johannesburg.
The local SPCA has been called out to assist in capturing the bird and taking it to safety. pic.twitter.com/N4XEObm5Bu
The bird managed to avoid crashing into a car as motorists swerved to make sure they don't hit the animal.
The ostrich can be seen stopping dead in its tracks and turning, before the person behind the camera pulls away from the scene.

It's not known where the animal came from or how it landed on the busy highway, posing a danger to itself and motorists travelling at high speed.
It's not the first time an ostrich has roamed around on a highway.
