Terrifying video of monkey dragging toddler in Indonesia

The internet is in a state of shock and anger after seeing a video of a toddler being dragged in the street by a monkey.

East Coast Radio does not support any form of animal cruelty
According to the New York Post, the incident took place on Saturday in the East Java city of Surabaya in Indonesia during a festival which is known as, topeng monyet.
During topeng monyet, monkeys are forced to wear disturbing doll head masks to perform or do acts. During this form of entertainment, a monkey was recorded driving on a little bike down a street towards a bench which seated a woman, two children, and a toddler.

The monkey then jumps off the bike and pulls the toddler several feet before letting her go.
Several people start to scream at the handler. The monkey then runs back in the direction it came and the child gets up and runs towards the woman on the bench.

The woman who took the footage, Jasa Supanji, told Storyful that the incident happened as people gathered to watch the performance.
Indonesians were outraged at the handler for beating the monkey after the incident. They said it’s wrong for the animals to be used for entertainment.
