South African private schools are at risk of losing students
Some of the best private schools are the ones that are located in KwaZulu-Natal.
As with everything in life, school fees are on the rise, which can be of a crippling effect for parents.
KwaZulu-Natal is known for having some of the country's best private schools, but they aren't cheap.

According to Business Tech, economic experts are warning private schools in SA about learners within these schools who could be forced to drop out and move to model C schools (government schools).
This is because of the fact that parents are struggling financially.

In terms of education for children, some parents may not have a choice but to move their kids out of private schools as cost-cutting continues.
This would be taking kids out of expensive private schools and placing them in government-based schools where the fees are cheaper, but the standard of education is still of a high standard.
According to Sunday Times, many school governing bodies are estimating fees to jump between 4% and 6% for 2023.
As it currently stands, the country’s most expensive school - Hilton College, based in the KZN midlands, saw a 3.5% increase from 2021.
This maintains their title as the most expensive school in South Africa.

Hilton has an annual fee of R343,155.
According to BusinessTech, back in 2014, Hilton College was the only school priced over R200,000.
In 2022, all schools that have made the top 10 most expensive private schools in SA have breached that figure, and six of them are past R300,000...
