Sjava allegedly dropped by Uzalo due to sexual abuse allegations

The award-winning musician's rape allegations by his ex-girlfriend and fellow musician, Lady Zamar, seem to be hanging over his head.
In recent weeks, news that singer and rapper Sjava joined the country's most-watched drama series, Uzalo, made headlines.
It came as no surprise to fans that the 'Mama' hitmaker will have a role on the show because he started his entertainment career as an actor many years ago, and also had a stint on Mzansi Magic's Isibaya last year.

But it seems the star's excitement has been short-lived after news that the SABC 1 drama series has made the decision to release him.
According to entertainment reporter, Phil Mpela, Uzalo was forced to drop Sjava due to the sexual abuse allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, Lady Zamar, last year.

Sources are telling me that Uzalo has been forced to let go of Sjava as channel is not happy with his casting.
I’m told this is tied to the controversy around his abuse allegations.#DevelopingStory#KgopoloReports https://t.co/IUQkvYM6S4 pic.twitter.com/b1lmihUVNx
This is not the first time that the former Ambitiouz Records signee has lost a gig due to the rape allegations. In 2019, Afropunk removed him as one of the headline acts of the concert and just this year in March the Cape Town Jazz Festival also dropped him.
