Cooking can be an ordeal especially when you live alone. We have seen the wave of lazy girl dinners and meal deliveries as solutions to eating for one take over the net.
However, this is not a sustainable solution for cost-effective and healthy meals. We have turned to our fellow East Coasters to chime in with their thoughts.

Here are some meal-for-one solutions as shared by KZN:
- "Haybo yall cook!? Mina I buy 4 boxes of cereal and milk...then live on Mr D and cook at least 2 times a month when I'm feeling home sick"
- "Cook like normal and store the leftovers for the next day, depending how long I can eat the food."
- "I buy take aways, make sandwiches most of the time or go to mums place and take her food ."
- "It's so easy to cook for one, plus u save so much money...and the best part no 1 complains...this is burnt ...too much salt...too oily... u can eat what u want, when u want and however much u want"
- "I hardly ever cook, I do cooked meal maybe twice a week. Other days it's a salad or a toasted sandwich. It's not fun being alone as I loved cooking."
- "I try cook over the weekend and freeze. Meals for the upcoming week sorted."
