Samurai sword killer who killed his schoolmate is out on parole

Remember in 2008, one of the top breaking stories in the country was about the teenager who brutally killed his schoolmate?
Young Morne Harmse was sentenced in 2009 in the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg for killing Jacques Pretorius (16).

His release on parole is simply because he has served his minimum time in prison.
The young man was sentenced to an effective 20 years imprisonment.
“He completed his legislated minimum detention period on June 6 2019. He was then considered for parole placement and confirmed for March 3 2022,” Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo told SowetanLIVE.

Nxumalo shared that Harmse had appeared before the Zonderwater management area correctional supervision and parole board about eight times.
His release is said to be subject to strict parole conditions which they would not disclose publicly.
