Regulation breakers in KZN: How to report
People tend to take lightly the extremely serious regulations put in place by the government with regards to COVID-19. It is only fair that we protect ourselves and everyone around us by alerting the police of any breeches.
Everyone hates a snitch, because they are a 'party-pooper', right? But during a pandemic where lives are lost and people are losing their loved ones, it cannot and should not even be seen as snitching when we call out people for breaking COVID-19 and national lockdown regulations. It's a pandemic!
SAPS KwaZulu-Natal appealed to residents here to share information regarding anyone who contravenes the Disaster Management Act regulations.

On the Monday, June 28 2021, SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker shared that 1,763 people were arrested in KwaZulu-Natal for failure to comply with the Disaster Management Act regulations during level 3 of the national lockdown.
Operations carried out between June 16 and June 27 2021 saw this number of people arrested for breaking certain level 3 lockdown regulations in the province.

“Police arrested 1,025 persons in various public spaces for not wearing a mask. During this period, 592 people were arrested to failing to confine to their residence during the curfew while 137 were arrested for selling or consuming liquor in a public space, which is in contravention of the regulations,” he shared with IOL News.
On Tuesday, 29 June 2021, following President Cyril Ramaphosa's address, ministers who serve on the National Coronavirus Command Council briefed the media regarding the 'reporting' of people breaking the laws in place during this level 4 of lockdown.

The ministers outlined measures to ensure compliance to the regulations in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa.

We are not being 'haters', if anything we are being proactive in the safety of people during this deadly third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic with the Delta variant.
If you are unsure, here are the rules to abide by. If and when regulations are broken, any of the aforementioned will come find you and arrest you.
