Like everything else, food prices are also increasing at your favourite supermarket. Sigh.
The most said statement of late is "...prices increasing..." and we unfortunately have to let you know about other items which will be a little more costly at the moment.
Pick n Pay stores shared that the impact of the rising fuel, manufacturing, and logistics costs will affect their food prices.

This directly affects your pocket and the rest of your monthly responsibilities.
Pick n Pay CEO, Pieter Boone, shared: “I want to give a word of caution in relation to what is approaching us.
“Certain of these price increases we will need to absorb and some we will have to pass on to the consumer.”

Three months after Boone took the CEO job, violent unrest swept across two key provinces, with rioters torching depots and delivery trucks, and also looting some of the supermarkets.
This saw more than 200 Pick n Pay stores severely damaged and two distribution centers destroyed, with the retailer estimating lost sales at close to R1-billion.
The riot-related costs affected the retailers and insurers more. Now, with energy and fuel prices likely to surge and the central bank and government set to remove the stimulus that’s helped South Africans cope with the pandemic, you will feel the pain.

Pick n Pay is looking for additional regional suppliers for fresh items such as milk and eggs hoping to somehow cut costs.
So, yes, you should probably budget religiously these coming months.
