Duo spend R114,518 on alcohol at Umhlanga restaurant

For many South Africans, going out for dinner is a treat that only comes now and then or on special occasions.
Even then, we might opt to be a little more frugal and not order the most expensive items on the menu.

However, this is not the case for everyone.
On Monday morning, 8 July, a patron in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, racked up an insane amount of R114,518 on alcohol at Rockets restaurant.
Including the waiter's tip of R11,452.80, the bill totalled a whopping R125,969.80.
The receipt, which entertainment blogger Musa Khawula shared on X, showed that the patron settled his bill at 4am on Monday morning at Rockets Club in Umhlanga Rocks.

"All the blessers flocked to Durban for the Durban July weekend, and so did Sergio Cabonge and Kenny Kunene, who spent over R125 000 at Rockets Club; Umhlanga Rocks," they wrote.
