National Parks Week first started back in 2006 and this year has the theme of "Know Your National Parks".

Speaking ahead of the campaign, SANParks Acting CEO Hapiloe Sello said the week is aimed at bringing people closer to some of our national treasures.
"The week was established in a bid to cultivate a sense of pride in South Africa’s natural, cultural, and historical heritage, protected by the national parks system," said Sello.
