Loonkiito, possibly one of the oldest lions in the world, was killed in Kenya at the age of 19. The lion was killed by the owner of a livestock pen, which Loonkiito had entered in the middle of the night looking for prey.

Maritzburg United chairman Farouk Kadodia has accused the PSL of anti-fair play practices as they will finish their DStv Premiership season on Tuesday while their relegation rivals end theirs on Saturday.

Bobi, a Portuguese pooch who was declared the world’s oldest dog by Guinness World Records in February, has celebrated his 31st birthday. Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he spoke to President Cyril Ramaphosa on Saturday and urged him to help implement Kyiv's peace plan to end the war with Russia. This comes after a US ambassador made claims that arms were loaded on board the Lady R at Simon’s Town in the Western Cape.
