KZN beaches are in desperate need of cleaning...
The issues with some of KwaZulu-Natal's beaches have become a major concern.
If you have been close to any water source in Durban, you would have recognised the unmistakable smell of human excrement - and people are not happy

This has been a growing problem since the KZN Floods we experienced in recent times.
However, it seems like the problem has a different origin and the solution isn’t as easy as we think.
This past weekend, there was the aQuellé Tour Durban where Durban's favourite Cycling Event was back on our shores.
Darren, Keri, and Sky received an email over the weekend from John who had participated in the race, talking about something he couldn't hide from after seeing and smelling it.
Hi team. I rode in the aQuellé race today (Sunday 11 September). The Ohlanga river mouth is a disgrace as it's full of litter and smells like a bad sewer. Is no one in the city council responsible for this? We will lose our blue beach status!- John
There is an organisation that has tried to clean the lagoon.
Josh Redman from THE LITERBOOM PROJECT has been on a mission to save our waters from being polluted.

Josh spoke to Darren, Keri, and Sky about how our water is continually being polluted and how it could affect our way of life in KZN.
Listen to what Josh had to say on the matter:
Last week, a shocking article was published by Tony Carnie in The Daily Maverick titled, ‘Big stink as eThekwini hides its Durban beach water lab results’.
DKS also had the opportunity to speak with Tony.
Here's what Tony had to say to Darren, Keri, and Sky:
With all that is happening, you can make a difference in our province and help clean our beaches.
The 17th of September is World Clean Up Day.
