His Royal Goatness! King Charles bestows royal title on a goat
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Yes, you read right. A goat has a royal title and you don't, but it is actually a good thing. Here's why...
King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, visited the island of Guernsey this week to bestow a special honour on a rare golden goat breed.
Locals at Les Cotils witnessed the couple granting the Golden Guernsey Goat a royal title.
According to a post on the royal family's Instagram page, the rare goat breed was "rescued by Miriam Milbourne from oblivion after she discovered some in the scrub herds of the island in 1924".
The king was pictured petting one of the goats at the venue, which looked unfazed by its fancy new title.

The goat breed will now officially be known as the Royal Golden Guernsey Goat. What exactly does this mean for the breed?
Well, for starters, unlike the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it can include the word "royal" in its name and all promotional material.
MORE ON EAST COAST RADIO:
More importantly, the title will help raise awareness about the rare goat breed, which we had no idea existed until it beat us to getting a royal title.
"It is the first time in recent history that the protected title has been granted to a livestock breed and Royal titles are granted sparingly, on the advice of the Cabinet Office with strict standards applied," the States of Guernsey wrote on Facebook.
Golden Guernsey goats all over the world will be able to use the title.
Locals are beside themselves with excitement about their special goat getting a royal title.
They have already been referring to their Golden Guernsey goats as 'His Royal Goatness'. King Charles just made it official.
Bleating amazing!
