Felix Baumgartner, whilst waiting to be the only person to break the speed of sound in free fall, said looking down on earth changed his perspective. Instead of seeing division everywhere, he said he just saw one united planet.

In the 1950s, the CIA helped fund an operation to have packets of extra-large condoms, labelled “small” and “medium”, dropped on Communist nations. The idea was to lower their morale by implying the Capitalist Yanks were incredibly well-endowed. The plan never made it to the skies.

In the 1980s, there was a turf war between rival gangs selling drugs and stolen goods from ice-cream vans in Glasgow. It is now know as the 'Ice-Cream Wars'. The investigating police got the nickname of 'Serious Chimes Squad' instead of 'Serious Crime Squad', because of the chiming music the vans would play.
