JSE-listed pharmaceutical retailer Dis-Chem has issued a moratorium on hiring white people to improve its employment equity profile. The company said in a statement that it was a "proudly South African business, which promotes inclusivity and representation of all South Africans, in their capacity as key stakeholders".

Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented daily from 16:00 to midnight from Monday to Wednesday. The loadshedding is required to help manage emergency generation reserves during the evenings.

The Championship match between Hull City and Birmingham City was delayed as groundsmen were forced to saw both goalposts down to regulation size.

New testing on branded sports bras and athletic wear made by sold by Athleta, PINK, Asics, The North Face, Brooks, All in Motion, Nike, and FILA has revealed high levels of BPA, a chemical compound that’s used to make certain types of plastic and can lead to harmful health effects such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. The results showed the clothing could expose wearers to up to 22 times the safe limit of BPA.

The downward trend in fuel prices that we’ve seen in the past few months has come to an end and early indications show that we are likely to pay more for fuel from the beginning of November. Around 37 cents for petrol and for Diesel, possibly R2!
