Moderna has announced it's suing Pfizer and BioNTech for copying elements of its COVID-19 vaccine. The US drug firm alleges that the companies used patented mRNA technology developed before the pandemic.

Criminals in the North-West University Mahikeng campus area better beware, a security guard there, Tete Dijana, won the 95th edition of the Comrades Marathon. He won R260,000 in official prize money- as well as a gold medal. Russian Alexandra Morozova won the women’s title.

Welcome Magoso, a 23-year-old from Umlazi in KwaZulu-Natal, has been crowned the 2022 Championship Boerewors Competition winner. The products of Magoso's winning recipe will on sale at Checkers and Checkers Hyper outlets from September 9, in time for Heritage Day on September 24.

The remains of what could be the largest dinosaur ever discovered in Europe are being excavated in a Portuguese back garden. The fossilised skeleton of a sauropod was discovered in the central city of Pombal in 2017.

A famous portrait of World War II era British Prime Minister Winston Churchill was stolen from an Ottawa hotel and replaced with a copy without staff noticing for months. It took officials at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel at least eight months before they realised the photograph, which may be worth more than $100,000, had been swapped.
