From heavy rainfall to snow, the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs said disaster management teams remained on high alert following a warning of disruptive snow in the province.

Doug Ramsey, Beyond Meat's COO, was arrested after allegedly "ripping the flesh" off a man's nose in a fit of road rage that turned violent. Witnesses say the two got into a minor car accident in a parking garage after a University of Arkansas football game on Saturday night.

South Africa will bid to stage the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, hoping to bring the event to Africa for the first time. South Africa was the first - and so far only - country on the continent to host the men's World Cup in 2010. Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany launched a joint bid for the 2027 competition, and that will be among the South African proposal's principle rivals.

Brad Pitt made his debut as a sculptor in a group show at the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland. Among the nine works on show was a house-shaped structure molded in clear silicon and shot with bullets, and his first ever sculpture, from 2017, "House A Go Go": an 18-inch miniature house made out of tree bark, crudely held together with tape.

The eThekwini municipality has laid out plans to attract R324-billion in power plant investments by 2035 amid the country’s worst-ever electricity outages. eThekwini’s longer-term plans are for the procurement of 2,600 megawatts of generation by 2035 from a mix of power sources, including coal and nuclear.
