KwaZulu-Natal police say they will be investigating the incident and making arrests after truckers parked and left their trucks on the N3 earlier on Thursday, causing a major traffic back-up. Our economy is under pressure, can we please just lay off the protests for a while until we can afford it again!

Former Junior Proteas and KwaZulu-Natal Inland cricketer Mondli Khumalo, who was brutally attacked in England, was moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) on Wednesday as he continues to recover in hospital. Khumalo, 20, has been in Southmead Hospital in Bristol for almost three weeks after he was assaulted at a taxi rank in the UK.

Residents in areas supplied by the Durban Heights water treatment plant face water rationing from Monday, which could last up to a year, due to shortages that continue to plague KwaZulu-Natal after extensive flooding in April. On Thursday, the eThekwini municipality said water rationing had become necessary due to reduced water supply from the plant.

A manager at a petrol station in California is out of a job after accidentally reducing prices to just 69 cents per gallon, the equivalent of R2.41 per litre. He was setting prices at the Shell petrol station in California last week when he moved a decimal by accident, marking petrol per gallon as 69 cents instead of $6.99.
