What is World Autism Awareness Day and why should it be celebrated?

On the 2nd of April this year, World Autism Awareness Day will be commemorated.
According to National Day, World Autism Awareness Day is the day that recognises and spreads awareness for the rights of people with autism.

The condition typically starts during childhood and continues into adulthood. Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disorder that is characterised by behavioural and communicational issues.
This impacts a person’s ability to navigate social interactions and also causes repetitive and restricted behaviour.
Darren and Sky decided to chat to Aarik Harilal, who is an ambassador for the Lionsgate Foundation.

The first historical appearance of the word 'Autism' was made in 1911 by psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler.
